You are Invited! View Invitation Here. The Northern Forest Center and convening partners from across Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and New York will host the second Summit for the Northern Forest May 4-5, 2011 at the Mountain View Grand Resort in Whitefield, NH.
Like the first Summit in November 2008, the event will convene public, private and non-profit practitioners from across the region to advance and expand specific, collaborative initiatives to implement the recommendations of the Northern Forest Sustainable Economy Initiative.
A unique and dynamic aspect of the Summit is the simultaneous gathering of multiple working groups focused on different elements of the Sustainable Economy Initiative strategy, such as tourism development, biomass energy, wood products manufacturing, higher education, conservation, public policy, and others. The event will provide each group with focused time on their respective topics as well as the chance to meet and learn from colleagues working on other important issues in the region.
The Northern Forest Tourism Network will be one of the working groups, and this will represent our third full network meeting (the first was the November 2008 Summit, and the second was the March 2010 St. Johnsbury meeting). Much more to come about the details of our working group session, but the key message for now is that we will be focused on both engaging new and returning members, and moving the work forward in specific and tangible ways.
